The Origin
I looked death in the face and said not today.
In 2010, after years of chronic and acute pancreatitis from pancreas divisum, a congenital anomaly.
I underwent a total pancreatectomy with islet auto-cell transplant. My pancreas and spleen were removed. 320,000 of my insulin-producing islet cells were harvested and reimplanted into the portal vein of my liver in hopes of avoiding becoming a brittle diabetic.
After years of physiological and emotional stress, my heart broke. Literally. Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy- broken heart syndrome, sent me into heart and respiratory failure. I spent three days on a ventilator, and doctors didn't think I'd survive.
I now understand that while my body was being worked on, my soul was being worked on. Somewhere in that stillness, I crossed a threshold that changed everything.
I came back different. I became a Reiki Master. I found Human Design, and for the first time, I had language for what I already knew in my body. I survived domestic violence, raised three sons, and rebuilt myself from the ground up.

I didn't learn this in a course. I learned it by surviving a total pancreatectomy with islet auto-cell transplant, and a broken heart- literally. I went through a divorce, experienced Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and rebuilt my life from rock bottom while raising three kids.
Coming back from a near-death experience doesn't leave you the same. It leaves you clear. That clarity became the foundation of everything I teach.
Gate 21 lives in the Heart Center- the gate of willpower and control. My body broke down because I was giving my power away to everyone around me. Human Design gave me the language to never do that again.
